A Clean, Contemporary Kitchen with Inviting Warmth
Designing a kitchen that combines a clean, contemporary look with inviting warmth can be a rewarding challenge. For my clients in Edmonton, who I’ve had the pleasure of working with before, I had a clear understanding of their desired style and functionality.
Family-Friendly Design
With a large family and energetic grandchildren, it was essential to create a space that accommodates both large gatherings and everyday use for the couple. The kitchen layout features:
Intimate Main Cooking Area: Designed for efficiency, this area allows for easy meal preparation while remaining inviting.
Dual Islands: One island includes a second sink for added prep space, while the other serves as a multifunctional area for entertaining and family activities.
Thoughtful Details for a Kid-Friendly Space
To make the kitchen truly family-oriented, we added storage on the back of the second island for children’s toys and coloring books. We chose durable laminate material for the cabinet doors to withstand the wear and tear from little feet and fingerprints.
Elegant Finishing Touches
A built-in coffee maker and stunning glass cabinets add a decorative flair to this kitchen, enhancing its overall appeal.
Key Features of the Design
Attention to detail was paramount in this project. We focused on:
The edge profile of the countertops
Seamless integration of appliances
A simple yet stylish backsplash selection
A minimalistic hood fan design
Thoughtfully placed lighting for both function and ambiance
